Social bookmarking is a way of organizing your internet shortcuts. Internet shortcuts can be saved in a form of bookmarks, but often you come across a lot of interesting sites or blogs and they often become a very crowded place.

Social bookmarking sites allow you to save your favorites online using tags. With tags your favorites are automatically easier to find, more accessible and more organized.

Guys over at CommonCraft have created this video which explains how can you use social bookmarking sites - in their example - del.icio.us.
